I received my BA from Otterbein College in 2008 with concentrations in painting and visual communications. In the spring of 2010 I completed my MFA in painting at Miami University.
My MFA work focused in the relationship between man-made and natural systems. In some ways it’s very easy for us to dissociate ourselves from the natural world. In some cases my work shows how connected these two types of systems can be, and in others it highlights how harmful our perceived disconnection can be.
In the future I plan to continue working with this idea and to keep adding different types of systems. The next step is to add cultural systems into the mix.
