Promoting the Arts are very important to us. However, we are always in need for sponsors and donation to make our events possible.
Creating art is something I have been compelled to do ever since I can remember. It is my choice vehicle in which I can express any area of interest that occurs in my life. It is where physical elements of the earth and human elements of creativity, physical manipulation, and spirit come together. My ideas begin with the issues and environments I find myself within. My love and studies of nature, science, and anthropology have strong influence on the motifs, methods, and mediums I use in my works, whether it be painting, sculptural, printmaking, ceramics, glass work, or graphic design. To study and participate in a traditional art form, and then respectfully take it further into my own realm of creating is an exciting accomplishment. This creates a bond that links me with those who have worked these forms and mediums in the past. I continue the ritual, but with my ideas and perspective, and this whole process is healing and regenerative. I especially enjoy using found objects as tools and mediums when creating my work. I sometimes find that the orthodox tools and mediums one associates with making art can create limitations which I wish to go beyond. As a naturalist and herbalist, I spend a good deal of time in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and kyacking. Many of my found objects come from these activities, and this ever growing collection of mineral and organic materials influence my designs and are often incorporated into my work. When surrounded by nature, the endless variety of light, shape, color, and texture is potent inspiration. To take something common from everyday environments and give it a new face that is fresh and extraordinary is my motivation. Through the manipulation of composition, medium, color schematics, point of view, and principles of human psychology, I can better engage my creative processes as well as the experience of my viewers.
